With deep roots in Northeast Ohio, Gayle Manning has dedicated her life to education, community service, and public leadership. A veteran elementary school teacher for 37 years, she earned numerous awards and recognition for her commitment to fostering a love of learning in her students. Gayle’s passion for service extends beyond the classroom; she and her husband, Jeff, raised their two children in Lorain County while operating their own small business, contributing to the growth and vitality of the local community.

Gayle has held leadership roles across multiple levels of government, including serving on the North Ridgeville City Council and holding two terms in the Ohio Senate, where she was elected Majority Whip. Currently in her fourth term in the Ohio House of Representatives, she represents the 52nd District and serves as Speaker Pro Tempore, the second-highest leadership position in the House. Throughout her legislative career, Gayle has championed initiatives to combat drug abuse, strengthen local schools, protect Lake Erie, and enhance public safety through laws supporting victims and law enforcement. She holds a bachelor’s degree in education from Kent State University and a master’s degree in reading from the University of Akron, and she treasures her time with her grandchildren, Conner, Avery, and Bryson.
