Inspire and Mobilize Future Generations
Dramatically Lowering the Cost of Space Access
At Blue Origin, we believe that reusability is fundamental to making spaceflight more affordable and sustainable. Our launch vehicles—New Shepard and New Glenn—are engineered with reusability at their core. Featuring vertical takeoff and landing capabilities, these vehicles are designed for up to 25 missions per booster with minimal refurbishment. Each is powered by throttleable, reusable liquid-propellant engines, allowing for efficient and reliable operations.
Utilizing the Abundant Resources of Space
To unlock the full potential of space for the benefit of Earth, we must build a sustainable infrastructure that leverages the vast resources of our solar system. Blue Origin is actively developing technologies to "live off the land," starting with the Moon. Our efforts include transforming lunar regolith into usable materials such as solar power systems, power transmission cables, and oxygen—critical for life support and rocket propellants. We are also advancing technologies to locate and extract water ice at the lunar south pole, which can be converted into hydrogen fuel for future missions.
Inspiring and Empowering Future Generations
Our mission extends beyond the present; it is a generational endeavor. Today’s efforts will pave the way for tomorrow’s breakthroughs.
Through our nonprofit initiative, Club for the Future, Blue Origin is committed to inspiring young minds to pursue careers in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics). The Club engages students through programs like Postcards to Space, hands-on educational content, and a global network of ambassadors, all designed to cultivate curiosity and ignite a lifelong passion for space exploration.
