Patrice Marshall McKenzie

Patrice Marshall McKenzie proudly serves as the elected Board Member for District 5 of the Pasadena Unified School District (PUSD), bringing over 15 years of experience in public service and education policy. A distinguished alumna of PUSD, Ms. Marshall McKenzie has worked closely with state and local government leaders, including the California State Legislature and the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education. Her deep understanding of education systems and community needs fuels her advocacy for student-centered policy reform and inclusive educational practices.

Ms. Marshall McKenzie is a passionate advocate for equity, social justice, and student achievement. In 2020, she played a pivotal role as co-chair of the successful "Yes on Measure O" school bond campaign, which secured vital funding for school infrastructure, arts, and STEAM education. She holds a degree in African American Studies with a minor in Critical Pedagogy from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master’s degree in Public Administration from the Marxe School of Public and International Affairs at Baruch College. Her leadership reflects a lifelong commitment to empowering students and uplifting communities through meaningful educational change.
