Lorton Volunteer Fire Department
The Lorton Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad, Station 19, located at 7701 Armistead Road, Lorton, VA 22079, is a private, nonprofit organization proudly serving the community in partnership with Fairfax County Fire and Rescue. As one of 12 volunteer fire departments in the county, we provide both emergency and non-emergency services to protect lives, property, and the environment. Our dedicated team of volunteer firefighters, emergency medical technicians, and administrative staff are committed to supporting the safety and well-being of our neighbors. We welcome individuals who are passionate about service to join our team, volunteering opportunities are always available.
Since our founding in 1954, the Lorton Volunteer Fire Department has remained a steadfast presence in the Lorton community. Our station has been home to hundreds of dedicated volunteers who work alongside Fairfax County's career staff and operate our volunteer-owned fire and medical apparatus. In the past year alone, we responded to over 5,000 emergency calls across Lorton, Fairfax Station, Mason Neck, Gunston, Fort Belvoir, Springfield, and the I-95 corridor. From fires and medical emergencies to natural disasters and hazardous incidents, our mission has always been to respond with professionalism, courage, and compassion.
