The Kimble Rural & Junction Fire Department, A dedicated all-volunteer organization committed to safeguarding the lives and property of residents across Kimble County and neighboring areas. Our department provides essential fire protection and emergency response services to communities including Junction, Segovia, Roosevelt, and London, while also extending mutual aid to Gillespie, Kerr, Edwards, Menard, and Sutton counties. Our mission is to deliver prompt, professional, and compassionate service, ensuring the safety and well-being of our community.
In our ongoing efforts to enhance our capabilities, we have undertaken significant renovations of our emergency response center, a 24,000-square-foot facility acquired in 2017. This center serves as a hub for our operations, housing offices, firefighting vehicles and equipment, training spaces, a commercial kitchen, and a dispatch center. Recent upgrades, supported by a $43,850 grant from the Lower Colorado River Authority and additional matching funds, have improved climate control within the facility, enabling it to function effectively as a regional staging area during emergencies. As we continue to develop our infrastructure, including plans for bunk rooms and expanded storage, we remain steadfast in our commitment to serving our community with excellence and preparedness.
