Established in 1946 under Florida Statute 421.04 and rooted in the mission of the United States Housing Act of 1937, the Tallahassee Housing Authority (THA) is a dedicated quasi-governmental agency serving the residents of Tallahassee and Leon County. Our mission is to provide and maintain quality, affordable housing while fostering a network of supportive services that enhance the quality of life for our residents, including low-income families, the elderly, and individuals with disabilities. We operate under Title 24 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), ensuring transparency, fiscal responsibility, and operational efficiency.

The Tallahassee Housing Authority owns and manages three distinctive residential Public Housing communities consisting of 549 units, including single-family homes and duplexes, as well as a 93-unit Low-Income Housing Tax Credit apartment community. Governed by a volunteer seven-member Board of Commissioners appointed by the City of Tallahassee, we remain committed to long-term redevelopment and revitalization of our housing stock, including major projects like the Orange Avenue Apartments Master Plan. At THA, we are continually working to improve our systems, ensuring easy access to information and services for all who rely on us.
