Founded in 1956 as The Lansing School of Special Education, LARC is a private, not?for?profit organization located at 19043 Wentworth Ave., Lansing, Illinois. We are dedicated to supporting approximately 100 adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities from the Chicagoland area, empowering them with meaningful opportunities to work, live, and participate as valued members of their community.

LARC ensures that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities experience fulfilling, engaging lives by providing individualized supports that pave pathways toward self-direction and independence, whether through employment, safe communal living environments, or enriching day programs. We envision an inclusive society that honors each person’s unique potential, where every individual is respected, empowered, and embraced by the community.
