Next to Nature Farm is a family-owned and operated farm located in the peaceful countryside of Leavenworth, Kansas, with a retail store conveniently situated in downtown Leavenworth at 213 S. 5th Street. Our farm store proudly showcases a curated selection of goods from over two dozen local farmers, artisans, and makers offering the charm of a year-round indoor farmers’ market.

Dedicated to sustainability and simplicity, we specialize in providing high-quality products in their most natural form. Our mission is to promote eco-friendly living by offering handcrafted, environmentally conscious goods. Owned by Chad and Megan Gilliland, Next to Nature Farm is truly a family venture, with every member including their young son, fondly known as the “Itty Bitty Beekeeper” playing an active role in daily operations.

One of our unique features is “Kansas’ only honey tasting bar,” where visitors can sample a wide variety of our award-winning local honeys, including infused and creamed varieties, as well as rare honeys sourced from around the world.

What began in 2012 as a few beehives to support an apple orchard has blossomed into a full-time passion. Chad’s interest in bees and pollination quickly grew, and with Megan’s love of essential oils, they created their first product together, a healing salve crafted from leftover beeswax. Today, the Gillilands continue to develop an ever-expanding line of natural, handmade products that reflect their commitment to wellness, craftsmanship, and community.
