The University of Montana Alumni Association has been connecting Griz alumni since its founding in 1901 by Eloise Knowles. What began as a network of 24 graduates has grown into a vibrant community of over 120,000 alumni and friends worldwide. The Association fosters lifelong connections through engaging events such as Homecoming and class reunions, dynamic communications including the Alumni Insider newsletter and Montanan magazine, and programs that support career development, mentorship, and travel opportunities.

Committed to enriching the UM experience beyond graduation, the Alumni Association also funds scholarships, supports legislative advocacy for higher education, and celebrates the achievements of its alumni community. By providing meaningful programming and services, UMAA ensures every alumnus can stay connected, engaged, and proud of their Griz heritage while contributing to the ongoing success of the University of Montana.
