Orlando Credit Union – East Orlando has a proud legacy dating back to 1936, when it was founded by a small group of 32 City of Orlando employees with just $160 in deposits. From its humble beginnings in a closet on the second floor of Orlando City Hall, the credit union has grown into a trusted financial institution serving tens of thousands of members across Central Florida. Over the decades, we expanded our membership beyond city employees to include residents and workers from Orange, Osceola, Seminole, Lake, Volusia, Brevard, Polk, and Hillsborough counties, embracing a mission of community-focused growth while maintaining the personal service and commitment that defined our early years.
At Orlando Credit Union, we operate under the credit union philosophy of “not for profit, not for charity, but for service.” As a member-owned financial cooperative, we reinvest earnings to provide competitive rates, lower fees, and innovative products designed to help our members achieve their financial goals. More than 88 years later, our dedication remains the same: empowering individuals, families, and businesses with the financial tools, guidance, and support they need to succeed. Choosing Orlando Credit Union is choosing a partner that puts people and community first, offering a better way to bank.
