Honor Charity began with a simple idea from founder and U.S. Army veteran Bernie Colonna: when our heroes need help, they shouldn’t have to wait. Too often, veterans and their families are left navigating endless red tape in moments of crisis. Bernie, a Tucson native, saw this firsthand and decided to create a nonprofit that puts action behind the words “thank you for your service.” What started around his kitchen table quickly grew into a movement, one that delivers immediate, meaningful aid to veterans who have slipped through the cracks.
Today, Honor Charity provides fast, direct support for everything from rent and food to medical bills, car repairs, and emergency home needs. Beyond relief, we empower veterans and their families with financial literacy resources that promote long-term stability and brighter futures. Every donation stays local, every grant is personal, and every act of giving restores hope and dignity. With your support, we can continue turning gratitude into action, helping our heroes not just get through the moment, but thrive beyond it.
