Indigenous Wellbriety
Home

Indigenous Wellbriety is a Native-led, community-based peer recovery organization serving the Four Corners region and southwest Colorado. Our team of Indigenous Peer Recovery Coaches is trained in the Wellbriety model through White Bison, Inc., and provides culturally grounded support informed by lived experience with substance use, mental health challenges, and systemic barriers. We offer peer support, resource advocacy, and opportunities for community service and volunteering, creating a safe and supportive space for individuals seeking recovery. In partnership with programs like Sih Hasin Street Medicine, we also extend our services to unhoused community members, ensuring holistic care and outreach.

Our organization is deeply committed to youth and community engagement, now offering weekly Youth Talking Circles at Southwest Open High School, led by our trained Indigenous Peer Recovery Coaches for Youth. We collaborate closely with communities throughout Montezuma County and neighboring Tribal Nations, including the Ute Mountain Ute, Navajo Nation, and Southern Ute. Supported by generous grants and our fiscal sponsor, Team UP of Southwest Colorado, Indigenous Wellbriety fosters a space rooted in compassion, cultural identity, and inclusivity. Guided by our mission and vision, we strive to empower individuals and families, promote cultural awareness, and support long-term well-being for those navigating recovery from substance use and mental health challenges.
