Paws and Stripes is dedicated to supporting military veterans and their loved ones navigating service-connected trauma through animal-assisted therapy and comprehensive mental health services. Founded in 2010 by Lindsey Kay, whose personal experiences as a family member of a veteran with a brain injury and chronic PTSD inspired the organization, Paws and Stripes combines compassion with expertise to create meaningful, transformative support.
Our programs offer unique, tailored approaches that set us apart, helping New Mexico veterans reintegrate into civilian life and establish purposeful goals. Through personalized mental health support, therapeutic services, and service dog training, participants develop essential life skills, self-awareness, and coping strategies to address everyday challenges, from career development and financial management to family life and relationship wellness. At Paws and Stripes, we are committed to empowering veterans and their families to thrive, fostering resilience, independence, and hope.
