In this class, students will learn how to tell a compelling story through a single, detailed illustration. Each participant will design and develop their own original character, exploring how visual elements can convey narrative and emotion.
The instructor will share professional techniques for shading, creating texture, and editing, along with live demonstrations. Students will also receive practical tips for using Procreate efficiently, empowering them to bring ambitious artistic visions to life with confidence.
Please note: Students are required to bring their own tablet and purchase the Procreate app ($12.99) prior to the first class.
About the instructor:
Kat Tolentino is a versatile artist with a broad skill set spanning oil painting, watercolor, colored pencils, pen and ink, and digital media. Since receiving her first tablet in 2020, she has embraced digital art as her primary medium, mastering the tools and techniques that bring visual stories to life. Kat understands the value of persistence and practice—having navigated the challenges of transitioning to digital art, she now creates with ease and confidence. Her deep knowledge of digital tools and storytelling through illustration makes her an inspiring and resourceful guide for aspiring artists.
