R-S Theatrics (St. Louis, MO) partners with the Showboat Community Theatre and Half Act Theatre Company (Hermann, MO) to start the Riverside Theatre Project, a cross-community collaboration designed to engage rural and urban Missouri artists. Continuing their second season, they will be producing Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the historic Showboat Theatre in Hermann, Missouri, September 12-21, 2025.

Per Riverside’s mission, the cast and crew of A Midsummer Night’s Dream are a mix of St. Louis and Hermann artists who are currently rehearsing in both cities. On September 8, the groups will come together for tech week as the St. Louis artists move into housing donated by the community of Hermann. Riverside Theatre Project is a cross-community collaboration designed to help break down artistic and cultural barriers between rural and urban artists. We believe art is the best way to bring about change, and we hope by creating a safe, generative space, that we can share perspectives and find common ground. We are an EOE and dedicated to being an anti-discrimination production company. Riverside’s productions also support the Save the Showboat fund, which is a fundraising campaign to restore the historic theatre back to its former glory.
