Dr. Todd Brauckmiller – Veteran, Educator, Advocate, Leader

Dr. Todd Brauckmiller is a highly decorated combat veteran, awarded three Bronze Stars for distinguished service. Beyond his exemplary military career, he has established himself as a visionary educator, accomplished scholar, award winning character builder, and an influential advocate for veterans and their families.

Currently serving as a Professor at Hallmark University in San Antonio, Texas, Dr. Brauckmiller has been instrumental in mentoring and empowering business students, guiding them toward academic excellence, professional advancement, and leadership in their chosen fields. His academic influence extends further through his roles as a guest adjunct instructor at St. Mary's University, Assistant Professor at Hiwassee College in Tennessee, and editorial and science board member for the Journal of Global Justice and Public Policy. Most recently, he has been appointed to the Texas Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors as the Director of Advocacy and Policy, where he continues to shape statewide initiatives that impact education, commerce, and veteran affairs.

Since retiring from military service in 2015, Dr. Brauckmiller has held executive leadership positions and made significant contributions to both his profession and his community. As the Director of Healthy and Safe Communities at the Washington State Department of Health, he spearheaded strategic initiatives to strengthen public health, emergency preparedness, and community resilience. He is also the author of the award winning book The Next Generation of Disaster Management, which underscores his expertise in crisis leadership, homeland security, and public policy innovation.

A recognized national voice for veterans, Dr. Brauckmiller has delivered keynote addresses at high profile venues including the Walden University Research Conference and Residency. His advocacy has led to expanded resources, improved educational opportunities, and policy reforms benefiting veterans and their families. He has served as a Veteran School Certifying Official (VACSO), helping service members successfully transition into higher education, and remains a powerful advocate for policies that advance veteran reintegration and quality of life.
Dr. Brauckmiller's impact is equally profound at the community level. He has been a driving force behind local initiatives that strengthen public safety, disaster preparedness, and social equity. His volunteer service includes supporting the Haven for Hope Community Kitchen, where he has helped provide essential meals to underserved populations, and leading as a labor volunteer with Habitat for Humanity San Antonio, building affordable homes for families in need.
Whether mentoring students, influencing policy, or serving his community, Dr. Brauckmiller exemplifies servant leadership, integrity, and transformational impact.
